1. The Glory of God: Soaring Oaks Church is passionately committed to the glorification of God in all of life over the entire world. We are devoted to what God Himself is devoted to. “From the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 1:11. Therefore we are committed to the worship of God in spirit and truth among all nations and peoples. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14. Habakkuk’s promise is Soaring Oaks mandate to delight in and spread abroad the knowledge of God’s infinite perfections. “His rule shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of earth.” Zechariah 9:10. We are dedicated to practicing and promoting Christ’s reign over the earth socially as well as spiritually.
2. To Equip the Saints: Soaring Oaks is passionately committed to equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Faithful service to Christ includes responsible stewardship of the gifts He has deposited in our midst. “He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12. Therefore we are committed to the priesthood of all believers.
3. To Witness to the Truth: Soaring Oaks Church is passionately committed to going into the entire world to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom. We are the witnesses of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to the proclamation of the great verities contained in the gospel of Jesus Christ: the truth about, God, man, Satan, creation, redemption, life, heaven and hell. The risen Christ’ commission to Paul is ours as well. “I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified in me.” Acts 26:18.
4. For the Sake of the World: Soaring Oaks Church is passionately committed to being the body of Christ. This implies existence for the world. As the Father sent Jesus Christ into the world so Christ sends His Church. Jesus said those who try to save their lives would lose them, but those who would spend their lives in the world for the sake of the gospel of reconciliation shall find them. Therefore Soaring Oaks Church is committed to being a pulsating source of life and hope in a world of darkness and despair. In this way we seek to, “do all things without grumbling of questioning, that we may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.” Philippians 2:14-16.
