Easter VBS is designed to be a fun and enjoyable time that thoroughly grounds the children in their understanding of Easter and its purpose. One of our goals is for Easter to be as important to a child, and as anticipated as Christmas. Easter VBS is an ideal way to do this. The theme this year is: “Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” The children will receive in-depth Bible study that is age-appropriate. Their first lesson will cover the reason Jesus needed to die for sin, the symbolism of Passover and its fulfilment at the cross. Their second lesson will tell the specifics of the last supper, Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection.
As well as an in-depth-Bible study we will offer the children Easter and Spring themed art and craft projects. Last year the children decorated Easter baskets, painted wooden Easter eggs, made pictures with sand, made necklaces, painted wooden toys and stuffed animals, and much more. This year we will have some of these crafts plus some new crafts as well.
* In these difficult financial times we know that many families do not have the means to afford extras for their children. We do not want any child prevented from attending VBS because of need. We know that asking for scholarships is hard for many parents but we make it as easy as possible. No questions concerning your finances will be asked. And scholarships are completely confidential.
