Acorn Club
Acorn Club is our mid-week Bible study, its title is a play on the name of our church– Soaring Oaks. It is our hope that our children will learn to love God, His Word, and develop a Christian world view. We feel this is best accomplished through intensive Bible study that challenges children in an age appropriate way. Each year we tailor the curriculum to the spiritual needs of each class. This year the 4-6 grade class is studying a curriculum titled, “To Be Like Jesus” from Desiring God ministries. The children are learning theological terms such as predestination, called, justification, salvation as well as gaining a familiarity with the Bible through finding Scripture verses as well as reading aloud. Our Preschool-Kindergarten class as well as our 1-3 grade class are using a comprehensive Bible study. This study stresses memorization, and uses time-lines and maps to help the children gain an understanding of what they are learning. It is very rewarding to see children who are excited to look up verses in the Bible and who are eager to learn from the word of God.
Acorn Club meets Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm at the church. We serve children 3 years-6th grade. We welcome children at anytime during the year.
